Lautaro: "Happy with how we are playing"

SAN SEBASTIAN – After the great win in the derby, Inter are next back in action against Real Sociedad on matchday 1 in Group D of the 2023/24 Champions League. On the eve of the game against the Basque side, Lautaro Martinez spoke to Inter TV:

You like playing in Spain? "The last time we played here was against Barcelona, but we need to always think about our work, and trying to put on show a good brand of football."

How are you finding it with Thuram? How much can you still improve together? "He is a young guy and is new to this league. But I must say he is always there to help out and give a hand. He has quality and strength and I'm really happy to play with him."

It's been three months since Istanbul: is this side able to reach the final again? "We have a lot of new players. I'm happy with the work we are doing. The group is working as we have always done, setting the highest targets and achievements. We are working well and I'm satisfied with how we've started this season.".

What game are you expecting tomorrow? "Real Sociedad are a side that always show fight and spirit, and aggressiveness; they have some excellent players. We will need to play a very measured game, working the spaces well."

In your first season as captain, how are you feeling in this moment? "The feeling is always the same, try and give my best and contribue to Inter. I learn something new from everyone every day. I'm happy because we are working with the respect the jersey deserves."

How long would you like to be the leader of this team? "I'm over the moon to be at Inter and to defend this jersey and these fans."
