In the first two months of the season, Lautaro has made 9 appearances across the league and Champions League, scoring 10 goals. It has been an outstanding start to the season for the Nerazzurro captain who has provided extraordinary performances. One of which was definitely that against Monza, in which he was voted man of the match by the fans following his brace. He then repeated that feat with another brace against Fiorentina. He also netted in the 1-1 draw in the match in San Sebastian against Real Sociedad in the Champions League opener. Il Toro concluded September by breaking a record against Salernitana: no player in Serie A history had ever scored 4 goals in a match as a substitute.
