Lautaro, special hugs: from the fans to Milito

Champions League nights are for Lautaro Martinez. When he came on in the second half of Inter v Crvena Zvezda, the match was 2-0. He put on the shirt, Lautaro, and seven minutes later he was already on the publishing boards on his feet embracing the nerazzurri fans.

The goal to make it 3-0, from a Mehdi Taremi assist, was big and important also from a statistical point of view: that's now 13 goals in 46 Champions League appearances, just as many as Julio Cruz (he got that many in 34 appearances in the Champions league for Inter). In the Inter shirt, only Adriano has scored more goals in the competition, 14 goals (in 26 matches). In total, Sandro Mazzola has scored 17 goals for Inter in the Champions Cup.

Lautaro has also become the second player to have scored in six different UEFA Champions League seasons with Inter, before him, only Julio cruz managed to do that.

In addition to the statistics, the joy for the goal turned in to a roar which the San Siro had already seen, which is still remembered with a heart of pride. Just like after the goal in the euro derby return leg of the Champions League in May 2023, the Toro went to hug literally every Inter fan.
