— Oct 11th 2022On the eve of Barcelona vs. Inter, the Argentinian striker answered questions in the press conference
After the win at San Siro, Inter are ready for the match at Camp Nou against Barcelona for Matchday 4 in Group C of the UEFA Champions League. Sat next to Coach Simone Inzaghi, Lautaro Martinez spoke on the eve of the game:
Zanetti said that you could become a focal point of Inter for many years to come.
"What Zanetti said is an honour because he is a legend of this Club, I work to give my best for Inter, to give a helping hand to my teammates and to improve every day. I try to do that and I thank him for his words. I'm currently a player for Inter, it's what I've always wanted, I'll give everything for the Club."
Will you need to play differently with respect to the way in Milan?
"We'll play the way we've prepared. Tomorrow, we'll have to play with the character of a great team, and out into practice what we've been working on with the Coach."
Dybala and Di Maria are injured. Are you worried for Argentina?
"They are very important players for Argentina. I hope it's nothing serious and that they are both available for the World Cup."
How are you feeling?
"I'm relaxed, with the work I'm doing and the help I'm giving my teammates, in this period where results aren't the way we want them to be in general, we need to give something extra to our performances. As it can happen to all strikers, I must remain relaxed because the goal will come when it's least expected."
What are you expecting from the stadium, can such a strong home backing also fire you up?
"We just need to play our game, in the first game, the referee analysed everything gave his evaluations. Tomorrow, we'll give our best, and the referee will give his, just like everyone else."
Tomorrow, there'll be a few important players missing, like Brozovic, Lukaku and Correa.
"They'll be a miss but we have players who can step into their shoes and who are ready and give their all just as we did at San Siro."
Barcelona have some defensive problems...
"They won't have Araujo, who's a great defender. Regarding us, we have prepared for the game, tomorrow we'll leave everything out there to try and get a positive result."
Will you be happy with a draw tomorrow?
"No, only the win".
