Asllani 2028: tactical intelligence and a spirit of sacrifice

A spirit of sacrifice and tactical intelligence. Kristjan Asllani has combined these characteristics over the past two seasons and will continue to do so. Because the Albanian midfielder has signed a contract lasing until 2028. Ever since his debut, the No.21, who has scored once in 63 appearances for the Nerazzurri, has been a key contributor to Simone Inzaghi's side.

Kristjan's Inter story is one marked by destiny, starting with his date of birth, which is the same as Inter's: 9 March. The midfielder's life has been characterised by changes that have transformed into big opportunities. Like when he moved from Albania to Buti in the Province of Pisa, where he grew up and began to take his first steps in the world of football. His technique and undisputed quality led to him becoming part of Empoli's youth sector at the age of ten.

Nerazzurro was undoubtedly in his destiny. In 2020/21, he won the Primavera Scudetto with Empoli, who eliminated Inter in the semi-finals in a clash that saw Asllani find the net. In 2021/22, he became part of the first-team setup at the Azzurri. Once again, he left his mark against Inter: he provided an assist for Bajrami in the Coppa Italia and then scored his first Serie A goal against the Nerazzurri.

Asllani and Inter finally joined forces in the summer of 2022. His first season at Inter provided an opportunity for him to learn a lot, and he always ensured he was ready to make a contribution. It was a campaign where he made 29 appearances in all competitions and lifted his first two trophies to the sky: the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia.

At the end of the following campaign, Inter clinched their Second Star. It was an extraordinary season, with the Albanian midfielder very much part of a historic triumph.

Game after game, Kristjan carved out a precious role for himself on the way to the Scudetto. The Albanian was at the complete disposal of Simone Inzaghi's side, displaying all of his quality and also experiencing the joy of scoring his first Inter goal, which arrived in the team's 2-1 win against Genoa at San Siro. It was a powerful right-footed effort from close range that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

Kristjan's career in the Nerazzurri shirt speaks for itself. He's an exemplary professional and a growing talent who will continue to contribute to the Nerazzurri cause in the coming seasons.
