“We were excellent and approached the match really well. The lads were fantastic and we’ve reached the final, which is what we set out to do. We’ll need to recover in the next two and a half days because it’ll be tough against Napoli. We’ve never experienced such a format before, but this is what football is like now and we need to adapt. I congratulated the boys because I enjoyed watching them. We deserved to have a bigger lead at half-time given the chances we’d created, and we also hit the post and bar. It’d be reductive to talk about one player after a match like that against such a strong side. Those who came on did really well, and that can’t be taken for granted. After all, if you concede when you’re 2-0 up, your opponents are back in the game. Now, we need to complete the final step on Monday. We’re on a great run, and Lazio posed a tough challenge due to their qualities, but we were patient and did really well. It was a fantastic performance, but I’ll watch it back to see where we could have done better.”
