MILAN – Inter recorded a fine victory this evening, beating Cremonese 3-1 at San Siro. The Nerazzurri now sit on nine points in the league ahead of the Milan derby, which is kicking off at 18:00 CEST on Saturday.
This is what Simone Inzaghi had to say after the game:
“I’m very happy because we’ve won a tricky fixture against a team that have picked up fewer points than they’ve deserved so far. The lads’ approach to the game was good. In just a few days, we were able to prepare for a tough match, and that’s because we’re a mature team that know what to do on the pitch.”
Inter came into the game having tasted defeat in their last encounter against Lazio in Rome: “We did well in the early stages at the Olimpico, but it was a match decided by certain incidents. Last season, this group won two trophies and fought until the very end, they know what to do. Defeats make you analyse things; at times, you emerge stronger than before.”
Inzaghi analysed the performance of his players: “Lautaro did very well after coming on, but everyone produced excellent performances. Correa? He had a slight adductor strain, but nothing serious. Brozovic is also OK: he took a knock, but we’re feeling calm. Our physical condition is improving and we have many games coming up in quick succession, all of which are challenging. Right now, it’s very early to look at the league table.”
Finally, the Coach had the following to say about the transfer window: “We need a centre-back because we have many fixtures coming up fast.”
