A night of emotions and milestones reached. The San Siro faithful gave the Nerazzurri their full backing as Inter made it through to the semi-finals following tonight's 3-3 draw with Benfica. Here's what head coach Simone Inzaghi had to say after the game:
“We're really happy; it's a big night for everyone at Inter. We played really well and deserved to go through against a team with a lot of quality. Congrats to the boys, who played two brilliant games. The semi-final was a dream before but now we're there and we're in it to win it. I'm pleased for the lads and with the run we've gone on in the Champions League. We had to get through a tough group. We were brave and united. We have earned this together, as a team and with the fans who were brilliant tonight. I'm happy for the team and I work hard to experience nights like these that just mean more. Their striker did well for their second goal. For the third, a whistle went off that saw some of the boys stop so that's why it ended 3-3 We played really well in the first half and in the second too because we covered the pitch really well. The changes helped us and we deserve to go through. The strikers? My aim is to have them all fully fit and they're all doing well now. I need them all in such a busy period and they are all giving me a hand.”
