Inzaghi: "A fantastic performance, we worked as a team"

Inter produced a near-perfect performance full of heart to run out 2-0 winners in Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

This is what Coach Simone Inzaghi had to say after the first-leg showdown, which was decided by goals from Barella and Lukaku:

"The lads produced a fantastic performance. We were determined and compact against a strong side in a very noisy atmosphere. I'm very happy, but that was just the first leg against a team that can compete at any ground. We hold the advantage, but it's not over yet. We haven't picked up the results we were looking for recently, but our performances have been excellent. That was our fourth match in the last ten days and our third game away from home. We're having to grit our teeth, but the lads went above and beyond. We can take delight in a great evening, but we've only played the first 90 minutes and will have to try and replicate that performance in Milano. I was very hopeful because the team have been creating chances and playing. We just need to be composed and analyse what is happening out on the pitch. We were excellent today, producing a display full of running, aggression and determination. We know that it was just the first leg, but we were really good both attacking-wise and defensively, giving very little away. We worked as a team this evening and it was a great performance, but it was just the first step as we look to accomplish something big."
