Inzaghi: "We were mature and composed"

“We were up against a side who defended well, but we were mature and composed. The atmosphere here with our fans is exceptional, whether we’re playing Roma, AC Milan or Cagliari. It’s always magical. We prepared for the game, and the lads showed composure. I’m very happy; we were in control and remained clear-headed and patient until the end, scoring late on. I can only applaud the lads after these opening 13 matches, but the road is a long one. We have a lot of objectives and want to play as many matches as possible. We know that it won’t be easy, but we’re putting in the hard work because we want to continue to improve. Everyone knew about Thuram’s qualities. After his first week with us, we knew that he’d do well both personally and for the team by working like he does. He’s lucky enough to know the language well and to have settled in well. He needs to carry on in this manner, just like all his teammates. It’s the day-to-day work that makes the difference; he’s a lad who really focuses on the details. Today, he produced an excellent performance in a tough match. Asllani did very well; coming on and playing like he did in a game against Roma isn’t easy. He’s making great strides forward and getting minutes under his belt because he has a professional attitude.”
