Inzaghi: "Proud of what we've done"

“We did really well against a high-quality team. We’ve finished the group unbeaten, and I’ve congratulated the lads. We wanted to come first, but there are always opponents standing in our way and we didn’t allow them to have any chances. Meanwhile, we had two really good opportunities in the first half, and there were also the chances that fell Lautaro’s way. We’re happy that we’ve managed to qualify and with what we’ve done in the group, even if we could have made more of our opportunities. We knew that we’d have to dig in, but we didn’t risk anything and kept our shape well. Last year, we finished second and ended up reaching the final. We wanted to win in front of our fans tonight, but we worked well and as a team. Having come second, we’ll have a tougher draw, but I only want to see smiles because we’ve finished the group undefeated and we’re in the knockouts. Even though we didn’t manage to come away with a victory, we fought until the very end.”
