“The lads were excellent. We played 120 minutes in midweek and were up against a well-coached and organised side. Our shape was good and we did really well in the first half, creating a lot of opportunities. Then, Lecce started to attack, but we kept things under control and then managed the game after making it 2-0. These three points were vital and not a given, so I’m very happy. Arnautovic and Thuram worked really well and need to keep it up. I liked what they did, but this applies to the entire team. Carlos Augusto and Darmian played 120 minutes on Wednesday and once again put in so much this evening. Our strikers didn’t score, but, for me, it’s as if they scored because they did some fantastic work for the team. Arnautovic was excellent; he didn’t find the net but did an outstanding job that was really appreciated by everyone. Bisseck has kept his head down and worked really well, and he deserves everything that is currently coming his way. Pavard was ready to play tonight, but it was only right to keep Bisseck in the side because he’s giving so much. He needs to carry on in this manner, and I hope he’ll experience more joy in the future. ”
