“The highest point of the night was the reception from the fans after full time. We’ve had three great games; the boys have worked so hard since July, with a contagious spirit. We know that it’s only the beginning but we’ve seen some good things and we need to continue down this path, for the Club and for our fans. Thuram? He played really well but I liked what I saw in the first two games as well. I’m pleased that he got his goal. He did well, as did all the others, both those that started and those that came on. We’re keen to not concede goals and to not let our opponents settle; we’ve done that in our first three games. Praise goes to the whole team, not just the defenders. We need to keep this up, all of us need to make sacrifices. Lautaro the leading goalscorer? He has all of the quality to do it but away from just the goals, it’s great to see the work that he puts in for the team. He’s getting better and better all the time; he’s a leader and he needs to keep going. Derby? We know what it means to the Club and the fans. We have a break now and a lot of players away on international duty. Some of them have tough away trips, but we’ll wait for them. Some of them will arrive back on Wednesday and others only on Thursday but we know that we play on Saturday and we’ll try to prepare as best we can with the time that we have. Inter is a source of great motivation for everyone. Until now, we’ve have one game a week and been able to start with the same line-up for three games. After the break, we’ll have Acerbi, Sanchez and Sensi back, so I’ll need them all and the look of the team could change game-by-game. Pavard and Klaassen? Davy only trained yesterday; we know him well and he’ll be handy for us in midfield. Everyone knows what type of player Benjamin is; I wanted to give him minutes today I subbed on Asllani instead because he deserved it. I have full faith in him and he deserved to come on this evening.”
