“The first half was balanced and we had a few opportunities where we could have shown more composure, but then we increased the intensity after the restart and the boys were brilliant. In the end, we deservedly won against a high-quality side. I’ve congratulated the team because we’d played as recently as Saturday in Salerno and the lads were outstanding. We displayed incredible intensity in the second half, during which we hit the woodwork and were thwarted by Trubin. We could have been better and had a bit more luck in these situations. At half-time, I told the team that we were in the game, needed to stay composed and could do better. Nevertheless, the team were impressive in terms of their focus and desire to win. The crowd were magnificent and were right behind us throughout the match; I’d like to thank them.”
