APPIANO GENTILE – After the 4-0 win over Atalanta at San Siro, Inter are getting ready to play Genoa on Matchday 27 of Serie A. On the eve of the game against the Ligurians, Nerazzurri Head Coach, Simone Inzaghi, spoke exclusively to Inter TV.
Gilardino's Genoa have a lot in their arsenal, they always try to play at a high tempo. What do you think the game will be like at San Siro?
"It will be a difficult game. Genoa is a good side, they have 33 points, and they're having a good season. In the last 12 games, I think they've only lost to Atalanta in the final minutes, they're in good form and we need to face them with focus".
Genoa, like in the fixture earlier this season, will try to cover all areas: how will you try to create spaces against a side like this?
"Genoa covers the pitch very well, they are good in attack and defence. We will need to be extremely focused, and technically clean whilst trying to play our usual game".
Is it likely that Inter will rotate the side again tomorrow, given the weight of games at the moment?
"There will be some changes, some rotation. I am lucky to have players who are ready, unfortunately, some could still be out tomorrow, but we have seen that you won't always have everyone available when you play this much and everyone involved has given me great results".
Inter has the best defensive and attacking records of the sides in the biggest European leagues. Is the trust between the staff and the players the real secret to this team?
"Alongside my staff in these 30 months with Inter, we have found great availability from all the players. We try to bring our principles as staff and the lads are very good at putting this into practice".
Inter is having a perfect 2024 with only wins. If you had to define this period in one word, which word would you use?
"I would say 'continuation'. We have done our best in the last two months but we know that tomorrow is a difficult game, there will be many others too and we need to continue playing with speed, aggression, and determination".
