Inzaghi: "A team victory, I liked our spirit"

— Sep 10th 2022The Coach's thoughts after the 1-0 win over Torino
"It's a very important win, one which we wanted and achieved as a team against a tough side to face. We knew that we'd have to dig in after Wednesday, but we fought together alongside our fans, who, like always, gave their backing. I liked the spirit that I saw. Games like these are very important."
The stadium exploded with joy after Brozovic's goal, and the Nerazzurri coach displayed his delight, too: "I wanted us to return to winning ways; we're Inter and have an obligation to always try and win. Unfortunately, two days ago, we faced the best team in the world in terms of intensity. It wasn't easy to prepare for today's match in so little time, but the lads showed a great response."
As regards how the match went: "We were a bit tense at the start because Torino covered the spaces well and pressed with intensity. In the second half, we tried to get the ball to our forwards more quickly and managed to do so. Lautaro? He produced a great performance and was decisive. However, everyone was decisive today."
On Handanovic's performance and possibly alternating between the Slovenian and Onana: "I knew that Onana was a strong goalkeeper, but, watching him in training, he's even better than I thought. He'll be decisive, just as Handanovic is. The latter has been our goalkeeper and captain for years. Onana knows that Handanovic is the starter, but I have the fortune of being able to alternate between them. I know I have two very reliable goalkeepers who I can count on. The substitutes did really well today, too."
Finally, the Coach talked about the team's progress and upcoming matches: "Wins give you confidence. We have twelve points but are growing on an individual level and as a team. You don't produce performances like the one today if you're not united as a group. Unfortunately, the calendar is putting us under pressure: we have another difficult away match in two days but will do everything we can to ensure that we're ready going into it."
