Inzaghi: 'To Florence with focus and determination'

MILAN - After their win against Salernitana, Inter are preparing for the away match at the Franchi, on matchday 11 of Serie A. On the eve of the challenge against the Viola, the words of Coach Simone Inzaghi:

After so long, you've had a whole week to prepare for this match, we start again on a historically difficult pitch for Inter, who are coming off a positive run. "Florence is a difficult away game for everyone, this week we've had a few extra days, we've managed to work quite well so now we go into this away game confident".

You have a trio of tough away fixtures coming up: Fiorentina, Juventus and Atalanta. How important will it be to come out of the Franchi with a positive result? "Results bring self-esteem and consequently victories are very important, we know that from here to the break we have a series of matches that are all difficult both at home and away, every three days we will be under pressure but we will have to try to face them one at a time with a lot of mental intensity as we have done in the last few matches".

Is it in away matches that you have to make the step up in quality? "In away games we have to do more, it's normal that playing in our stadium in front of our fans helps us a lot, but we know that on Saturday night there will be many of them with us.

How is Lukaku? Has he been called up? "He's been training partially with the group for two days now, he clearly needs to improve his condition but he's very motivated. Finally after a long time he has overcome the injury, for tomorrow in Florence he won't be with us, we try to bring him on Wednesday, clearly he has to improve his condition but seeing him work I'm very confident".

Has Handanovic recovered? "Handanovic is not available for tomorrow but he will travel with the team and will give us a hand, if needed Cordaz is ready".

What kind of season will it be with this break? "What is important is to think game by game, there are so many to come between now and the break, clearly we have to get there in the best possible way. There are five league games left, two Champions League games, so there's still a lot ahead of us."

How many points from the top would Inter feel like title contenders? "Now clearly we have to look at the calendar, be realistic, we have some gap, at the top they are doing so well. We have lost a few points, the objective is to make up points in the league and advance to the Champions League knockout stage".
