It was a huge night of football at San Siro, where Italy and France went head-to-head in the final showdown in UEFA Nations League Group B. There was a big Nerazzurri presence in the fixture, with four Inter players starting for Italy and one for France, with another coming on in the second half.
Nicolò Barella wore the captain's armband for Italy. Les Bleus ran out 3-1 winners, meaning Deschamps' side finished top of the group ahead of the Azzurri. The goals: Rabiot, a Vicario own-goal, Cambiaso from a Dimarco assist, and another for Rabiot.
As stated above, six Interisti played. For Italy, Barella and Bastoni played the full 90, Dimarco got 83 minutes and Frattesi got 67. Thuram started and played 78 minutes for France, while Pavard came on in the 82nd minute.
ARNAUTOVIC PLAYS FOR AUSTRIA
Arnautovic also saw action tonight as he captained Austria in their 1-1 draw with Slovenia in the Nations League. Austria took the lead through Schmid before Čerin scored a late equaliser for the hosts. The Inter striker played for 90 minutes before making way in stoppage time. Austria finish the group stage on 11 points behind Norway in League 3 of League. Ralf Rangnick's team will now have to go into the play-offs.
