MILANO - FC Internazionale Milano announces that Gianpiero Piovani has been appointed as the new Coach of Inter Femminile. The tactician has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2026.
Gianpiero Piovani was born in Orzinuovi on 12 June 1968. Football was in his thoughts from a very early age, and he was always destined to become a player. Following his youth career, he made his debut for Brescia against Maradona’s Napoli in Serie A on 14 September 1986. Truly unforgettable.
A quick and technical striker, he spent the majority of his career playing Serie A and Serie B football, notably becoming a key figure for Piacenza, where he played for eleven seasons. As a coach, he narrowly missed out on winning the Scudetto with Brescia Femminile in 2017/18 following a penalty shootout play-off defeat to Juventus. That same campaign, however, his side beat Fiorentina to win the Supercoppa Italiana. In the following six seasons, he remained in the women’s Serie A division, coaching Sassuolo for the entire period.
“I can’t wait to start this wonderful adventure. I want to give my all for these colours, also because I’ve supported this team since birth. I want to coach a humble group, and we need to work hard and improve both physically and on a technical-tactical level. We want to make big strides forward and know that the fans are an integral part of the project. It’ll be vital to always have them on our side”
