MILANO – The first official edition of the UEFA - Outraged project is underway as part of Inter Youth Sector's educational activities. It is an initiative that aims to promote the values of inclusion in football and in society by fighting discrimination, from racism to disability discrimination.
In 2023, Inter had already been chosen as the project leader for the first trial of the project by UEFA's Social & Environmental Sustainability Division, which provided the documentary "UEFA - Outraged" to begin an awareness-raising and educational journey with younger people. Now, the project comes to life with a workshop, split into three different meetings, dedicated to discrimination against refugees and conducted by Youth Sector staff from the Educational Department. The first event, held on 7 February, centred on the young people in their second year at Inter College and was headed up by representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Alongside the UEFA-Outraged format, in March, there will be a new event on the theme of Different Abilities, in collaboration with the Club's CSR and the Nerazzurri Special Paralympic and Experimental Football Team, ASD Sporting 4E. The objective is to develop a Nerazzurri Youth Sector that is informed and aware, starting from the training of those who are part of it, from young athletes right through to adults, focusing not only on technical and footballing aspects, but also on human and cultural ones, too. The Educational project includes training activities and information offered to the Youth Sector's children and staff. Starting around 20 years ago, the project now extends to every team, men's and women's, involving over 400 players with the contribution of various professional figures within the Club, and takes into account the most important issues for children's off-field growth and the relevant guidelines provided by Italian and European football institutions.
FC Internazionale Milano's commitment to non-football training through the Educational Project was rewarded in 2022 with the prestigious ECA Youth Football Award. UEFA Outraged enhances the sporting values that FC Internazionale Milano has always believed in, encouraging equality and inclusion starting from the Nerazzurri's youth sector.
