MERSIN – Inter are celebrating the club’s growing presence in Turkiye. A delegation led by Vice President Javier Zanetti has travelled to Mersin for a serious of events dedicated to consolidating the brand’s presence in Turkiye, a country where the Club is already well established with a big fan base and over 15 million people interested in Inter.
The Inter delegation’s presence in Turkiye enables the staging of a celebration of the Academy project’s development path, having begun in 2020 in collaboration with partner 3H Spor Okullari and which has witnessed record-breaking levels of development over the last two years.
In the city of Mersin alone, Inter Academy now has 900 young footballers, with a total of 1,500 across the entire country spanning 11 different locations such as Mersin (HQ), Istanbul, Antalya, Denizli, Kayseri, Bursa and Diyarbakir.
The two days in Turkey were kicked off with a gala dinner, which was held on Monday evening with various national institutions in attendance, followed by a special training session today led by Javier Zanetti at Mersin Stadium, in which 500 children were out on the pitch while a sizable number of fans painted the stands black and blue at the stadium.
Inter’s visit to Turkiye also represented an opportunity to announce the country’s maiden Inter Club, which will contribute to further enhancing Inter’s brand awareness across the country and growing the Nerazzurri fan base nationally.
