Inter beaten by Sassuolo at San Siro

Inter's winning start to the Serie A season came to an end this evening as they fell to their first defeat of the campaign. At San Siro, Sassuolo came from behind to emerge 2-1 winners from a match that the Nerazzurri dominated in the first half before conceding twice after the restart. It's disappointing, especially given the fantastic moves the team put together in the opening period.

But following Dumfries' goal on the stroke of half-time, Sassuolo struck back with a quick-fire double at the start of the second half. First, Bajrami's right-footed strike caught out Sommer, who was then beaten by a powerful long-range effort from Berardi. Inter then lost a bit of composure and struggled to create the chances they did in the opening 45 minutes. Despite Inzaghi's changes, the Nerazzurri couldn't quite regain control and return to their previously quick tempo, even if Lautaro came inches away from rescuing a late point in stoppage time.

Inter will return to action away to Salernitana on Saturday.
