Inter's four goals in the second Malta outing against Salzburg: Mkhitaryan's double and goals from Acerbi and Carboni decided the match. Two days after their success against Gżira, the Nerazzurri took on Matthias Jaissle's side, the current leaders of the Austrian championship, ending the match with a rounded victory and keeping a clean sheet.
Simone Inzaghi's side took an excellent approach to the match, finding their first chance after four minutes with Barella's volley assisted by Gagliardini, and after a double chance from Dzeko, they took the lead in the 20th minute. The goal was the result of a collective effort with several key players, from Calhanoglu to Dzeko himself, excellent at protecting the ball and opening up for Dimarco: the wing back's dangerous ball was finished off by Mkhitaryan for the Nerazzurri's first goal. The second that came before the half came from a spot kick, Calhanoglu delivering it from the right, the number 20's precise trajectory finding the head of Acerbi, who nodded the ball in at the second post for 2-0. In the second half, Gosens and Asllani came on in place of Dimarco and Calhanoglu. Salzburg tried to react by relying on Konate, who repeatedly tried to trouble Samir Handanovic, who made a superb save on Wöber's shot deflected by Skriniar. At the half-hour mark of the second half Mkhitaryan's scored his second, which came after a dangerous header in the 54th minute. The move started by the same midfielder was finished off by Bellanova and Dzeko, who found himself at the back post, made a precise assist for the Armenian's goal. In the closing stages, the team was rejuvenated with the entry of multiple Primavera boys. The seal of the match came from Valentin Carboni, who after his debuts in Serie A and the Champions League found the joy of scoring, sliding in Gosens' cross from the left. The next Nerazzurri friendly will be on 17 December against Betis.
