Thuram scores the winner against Roma!

Thanks to a goal from Marcus Thuram, Inter beat Roma at San Siro to return to the top of the table. It was a fantastic display from Simone Inzaghi’s side, who came close on numerous occasions and barely gave anything away. Supported by a special home crowd, the 81st-minute winner was the minimum that the Nerazzurri deserved. Asllani played a lovely, precise ball to Dimarco, whose perfect cross was converted by Thuram to send the Nerazzurri faithful, who made themselves heard throughout the 95 minutes, into raptures.

Inter controlled the game from the get-go, conceding only one real chance to Roma. Sommer was alert, however, producing a fine stop to thwart Cristante in the second half. Aside from Thuram’s goal, Calhanoglu (6’) and Carlos Augusto (90’) both hit the bar with fantastic efforts. Following this evening’s victory, the Nerazzurri sit in first place on 25 points after ten games, two ahead of Juventus.
