MILAN - On Holocaust Memorial Day, Inter Milan visited the Shoah Memorial in Milan to honour the memory of Árpád Weisz and the millions of victims of the Holocaust.
At the Memorial, representing the Inter world, Vice President Javier Zanetti met with the President of the Shoah Memorial in Milan, Roberto Jarach, and as per tradition, he brought a Nerazzurri jersey with the number 18 as a gift, which in Hebrew has the same sound as the word 'Life' and the name of Árpád Weisz to remember the great footballer and coach who won the Scudetto in the 1929-30 season at Inter.
Árpád Weisz's story is part of Inter's - it was he who introduced the young Giuseppe Meazza into Serie A - but it is also the testimony of a man who could not escape the pain of the Nazi concentration and extermination camps. It is through him that every year the Club keeps the memory alive, as in not forgetting his story, the memories of the millions of victims of the Holocaust are also kept alive.
