Dimarco scores a stunner as Inter beat Frosinone

— Nov 12th 2023A brilliant effort from the Italian and a Calhanoglu penalty seal a 2-0 win: Inter sit top with 31 points
Thanks to a wonderful effort from Dimarco, who found the net from almost 60 metres out, and a Hakan Calhanoglu penalty, Inter beat Frosinone to record their sixth consecutive win in all competitions (four in the league and two in the Champions League) and move up to 31 points, thus remaining top of the table. Tonight’s 2-0 victory will be remembered above all for Federico Dimarco’s incredible finish in the 42nd minute, with the Nerazzurri wing-back spotting the goalkeeper off his line and - just like Recoba and Stankovic once did - producing a stunning lob from distance to open the scoring with his left foot. It came at the end of a first half where the Nerazzurri had put in a solid performance against a spirited and fearless Frosinone side who were well in the game.
After the restart, the impressive Marcus Thuram showed displayed fancy footwork to win a penalty that Hakan Calhanoglu - now the highest-scoring Turk in Serie A history - stepped up to convert. Despite being 2-0 down, Frosinone never gave up and hit the post through Cheddira, although Lautaro and his teammates also had several chances to add a third at the other end. It’s now time for the international break, after which Inter will return to action away to second-place Juventus (two points behind the Nerazzurri) on Sunday 26 October.
