In taking to the pitch against Juventus in the Coppa Italia, Samir Handanovic made his 450th Inter appearance in all competitions. After joining the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2012, Handanovic made his debut in Hajduk Split 0-3 Inter on 2 August of the same year and is now enjoying his eleventh season at the Club.
The Slovenian goalkeeper has played 377 matches in Serie A, 20 in the Coppa Italia, 26 in the Champions League, 26 in the Europa League and one in the Supercoppa Italiana. In terms of the all-time Inter appearance ranking, whose top three positions are occupied by Zanetti, Bergomi and Facchetti, Handanovic sits in eleventh place, just five matches behind Ivan Cordoba. When it comes to goalkeepers, only Walter Zenga (473 appearances) is ahead of him.
Alessandro Bastoni has also reached an important milestone in Turin this evening. In playing for the 150th time for the Club in all competitions, he’s become the first Nerazzurri player to make at least a century and a half of Inter appearances before turning 24 since the start of the previous decade (2010).
The 23-year-old made his debut in Inter’s 3-1 victory over Sampdoria in Genoa on 28 September 2019. He’s since gone on to feature in 112 games in Serie A, 21 in the Champions League, five in the Europa League, ten in the Coppa Italia and two in the Supercoppa Italiana.
