The groups for the 2023/24 Champions League were drawn at the Grimaldi Forum in Montecarlo today. Inter now know their upcoming opponents in Europe's elite competition: Simone Inzaghi's Nerazzurri were placed in GROUP D alongside Benfica, Red Bull Salzburg and Real Sociedad.

The final fixture list will be confirmed in due course. The top two from each group will advance to the round of 16 of Europe's elite competition. The teams that finish third will advance to the UEFA Europa League knockout round play-offs, where they will take on those that finished second during the UEFA Europa League group stage for a place in the round of 16 of the competition.

32 sides will be involved in the group stage. They were divided into four pots. The first was composed of the UEFA Champions League current holders, the UEFA Europa League winners and six champions of their respective leagues. Pots two to four were determined by club rankings. Teams from the same federation weren't allowed to be drawn against each other.
