— Dec 13th 2023The Nerazzurri's possible opponents after finishing behind Real Sociedad on goal difference
Inter ended their group stage campaign with a goalless draw against Real Sociedad. It means that the Nerazzurri have progressed to the knockouts as the second-place side from Group D. Both Inzaghi's men and the Spaniards picked up twelve points, but the latter finished top by virtue of their better goal difference. Indeed, Inter scored eight and conceded five (+3), while Real Sociedad found the net seven times and shipped just two goals (+5).
In the draw on Monday 18 December, the Nerazzurri will thus be paired with one of the seven other group winners.
Furthermore, Inter will play the first leg of their round of 16 tie at home on one of these dates: 13/14/20/21 February. The return fixture away from San Siro will take place on 5/6/12/13 March 2024.
The draw is scheduled for 12:00 CET on Monday 18 December and will take place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
