Frattesi, the match - winner: "I've done it again after Verona: vital win"

— Apr 8th 2024The fastest to the ball after Lautaro Martinez hit the post and then the cry of joy shared with all the Nerazzurri, both teammates and the fans. It was a liberating goal that sealed an extraordinary and well-deserved comeback at Udinese. After the match, Davide Frattesi commented on Inter's 2-1 victory:
“There's so much euphoria after a win like this, but we still have many games and points to go for; we're not thinking about the end yet. I scored again after the goal against Verona, but I can't choose between the two: It wasn’t at San Siro, but it's also good here, with so many of our fans. This is a significant building block for our objectives. Like in Rome, at halftime, we told ourselves to stay calm and play as we knew we would have our chances. A period of slight decline is normal in such a long season; you can't always win 4-0. It's important to know how to win these ‘ugly’ games too”
“We are important too, even though we may play less. During the week, we are always committed and we are a great group. My goals are a satisfaction to me, but it is also important to recognise the coach and the group. Even those who don’t play feel valued. I always joke but I am serene. However, when I step onto the field, I feel the fans and see this spectacle and I get a massive boost. Thanks to them I could run through walls.”
