MILANO - Davide Frattesi has joined Inter. In an exclusive interview with Inter TV, all the determination of the Italian midfielder was on full display at the start of a new adventure.
Why did you choose Inter? "You just need to look around you to understand the importance of this Club. It all started a year and a half ago when I played against Inter and was really impressed by the stadium and fans. This is a very important factor for me, which is why I didn't have any second thoughts when this opportunity presented itself."
What are you expecting from this experience, and what do you think you can give Inter? "I certainly hope to win a few trophies. I'll show commitment and professionalism, and I hope to score a few goals."
You already know a few of your new teammates having played with them for Italy. "Yes, they're all great guys. I've known Alessandro Bastoni for the longest. Like me, he was born in 1999 and we progressed through the Italy youth ranks together. I can't wait to be his teammate at club level."
You've always done well against Inter. Is it true that Marotta complimented you after the game when you last came to San Siro? "It's true. It was exciting because receiving compliments from a director is an important bit of recognition. This was also a factor in my decision to join."
Your arrival at Inter will strengthen a high-quality midfield. Will it also be a great opportunity for you to grow? "Definitely. I'll be playing alongside champions and I can only learn things from them during training. I'll try to take the positive things on board and then display them out on the pitch. It'll be an honour and a pleasure for me."
Inter's first match of the Serie A season will be against your former side Monza at San Siro. "I loved it there and it's a place where I have many friends. My excitement will be twofold."
How does it feel to play at a stadium like San Siro with such a noisy atmosphere? "It was difficult as an opponent, but it'll provide extra motivation as an Inter player. I can't wait to score a goal and celebrate in front of the Curva."
