After victory over Hungary in their opening game of group A at Euro 2024, Yann Sommer's Switzerland drew 1-1 with Scotland. The Swiss replied to McTominay's 13th-minute goal with a brilliant Shaqiri finish from outside the area.
The Nerazzurri goalkeeper put in a solid performance, allowing his team to gain a crucial point ahead of the last round of group matches, in which Switzerland will face Germany, already qualified and who sit at the top of the table with six points. Behind the Swiss, who have so far collected four points, are Scotland with one point and Hungary, still without a goal.
Yann Sommer and Switzerland will next be in action on Sunday 23 June at 21:00 CEST.
An exciting draw for Kristjan Asllani's Albania in the match against Croatia, which officially opened the seconr ound of fixtures of the Euro 2024 group stage. Brazilian coach Sylvinho's national team won their first point in this European championship in the last minute. Played at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, it ended 2-2: after taking the lead with a goal from Laci early on, Albania suffered a Croatia comeback in the second half, following a goal from Kramaric and Gjasula's own goal. The latter got his revenge by scoring Albania's late equaliser deep into stoppage-time. Nerazzurri midfielder, Kristjan Asllani, lined up from the start for the Albanian national team, playing the full 90 minutes. With this draw, Albania get their first point in this European Championship: Sylvinho's side are third in Group B, ahead of Croatia, also with one point, thanks to a better goal difference. The group is led by Spain and Italy, both with three points, who will face each other on Thursday 20 June.
