Emil Audero, the Nerazzurr's new goalkeeper, was born in Mataram on the Indonesian island of Lombok on 18 January 1997. Son of an Indonesian father and Italian mother, Emil grew up in Cumiana, in Piedmont, where he made his first steps onto the football pitch. After spending eleven years in Juventus' Youth Sector, Emil made his Serie A debut with the Bianconeri on 27 May 2017. Following a year on loan with Venezia in Serie B, Audero joined Sampdoria, where he became a mainstay for the Blucerchiati over five seasons. At only 26 years of age, Emil has already collected 164 appearances in Serie A.

TWO SOULS: ITALY AND INDONESIA
Audero is closely attached to his Indonesian origins, which can be seen in his personality. The goalkeeper displays his roots through his cool, calm and collected traits, while his Italian soul comes out through his determination and emotion.
EARLY STEPS
Emil started playing football in his hometown team, Cumiana Calcio. Initially, he was an outfield player, and only later did his Coaches decide to place him between the sticks: a decision that certainly paid off for Audero's footballing career.
PRE-MATCH MUSIC
A fan of music, the new Nerazzurri shot-stopper listens to all types of different genres, but before stepping out onto the field of play he prefers to put on some rock and pop tunes.
MOST DIFFICULT SAVE
There are many big save in Audero's career to date, but according to Emil his most difficult one came during the Juventus vs. Sampdoria game in the 2018/19 season, where he managed to tip a stinging Cristiano Ronaldo attempt onto the bar. Another memorable moment for the keeper was the penalty save from Criscito's penalty in the derby against Genoa in the 2021/22 season.

A SPECIAL HOBBY
When Audero is not busy playing or training, he loves to play the piano. The new Nerazzurri keeper has been learning to play for a few years now, dedicating part of his spare time to this pasttime.
FEDERER'S EXAMPLE
Audero follows other sports, but outside of football the sports athlete he has been mostly inspired by is without doubt Roger Federer. The shot-stopper consider the former Swizz tennis player an extraordinary sports personality, both on and off the court.
THE PLACE IN HIS HEART
If he had to think of the perfect holiday destination, Audero has no doubts: Indonesia holds a special place in his heart, especially the island of Lombok, where he was born. It's a place characterised by beautiful, pristine beaches, and where Emil is deeply connected to.
TV SERIES AND FILMS
Emil admits he is a great romantic: for this reason, his favourite film is the 1999 comedy with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, Notting Hill. Instead, his favourite TV series over the last few years is Peaky Blinders.

Audero has a big wine collection: he can now count over 300 bottles in his wine cellar.
