“I can’t wait to start my third season with Inter. We have clear objectives, like winning the Scudetto, something which I didn’t manage to do in my first two years here. When I arrived at Inter, it was my first footballing experience away from the Netherlands. In the past two years, I’ve learnt a lot tactically thanks to the staff and my teammates, who have really helped me improve. I continue to learn every day and I’m happy. Last season, we did really well in the Champions League, even if we didn’t get our hands on the trophy. This year, meanwhile, we want to win the league. There are several new players who have added quality to the squad. Our preparations are going very well, and everyone is motivated and full of hunger. I expect a lot from the coming campaign. The two friendlies in Japan will be vital in terms of helping us understand how we’re doing physically and the kind of football we want to play. Furthermore, the newcomers will be able to understand what our style is. Through these matches, we can discover the aspects we need to improve on and where we’re already doing well. I’m ready to play.”
