Davy Klaassen is a new Inter player

Destiny sometimes lays down fascinating paths in life, built on dreams and determination. Davy Klaassen's path has always had a clear objective, one to be pursued with fervent passion.

Hilversum, February 21 1993: the baby was born with a shock of white hair, easily recognizable among all the newborns in the hospital. Klaassen's fate took little time to become apparent. From an early age, Davy grew up with two constants, inherited from his family: football and Ajax, his grandfather and his biggest fan, Jaap, fostered this passion in little Davy. Klaassen spent his childhood playing football around the house with his brother Aron: each doorway became a goal for them to shoot at.

Davy took a football with him wherever he went, on family outings at the Vondelpark in Amsterdam and every afternoon out with his friends. At the age of six, he started playing in the youth system of the local side HVV de Zebra's, before moving to HSV Wasmeer in Hilversum. Then, in 2004 he got the call from Ajax: a dream come true. In November 2011 he made his senior debut at 18 years of age and got a taste for elite football: in that season, Inter crossed his path for the first time, in the final of the NextGen Series won by the Nerazzurri over Ajax.

Davy's future seemed set, but an injury in 2013 momentarily interrupted his growth: a period that helped him improve his mental resilience and as a professional. Klaassen remained at Ajax until 2017, having won the Eredivisie three times and spending two years as captain of the Amsterdam team.

He spent just a year in the Premier League, playing with Everton, before moving to Werder Breman in Germany. After two years, 79 appearances and 16 goals he returned home to Ajax. His second debut with the club was marked by a goal: a special and unforgettable moment for Davy. This time the adventure in Amsterdam lasted three seasons, where he proved to be a leader and an example for all his teammates.
