Matchday two of the group stage at the Copa America 2024. Reigning champions, Argentina, earned their second win in Group A: Lautaro Martinez made the headlines, grabbing an 88th-minute winner against Chile to put the Albiceleste through to the quarter-finals. El Toro, who came on as a sub in the 73rd minute, took 15 minutes to score his second goal of this tournament thanks to a quick tap-in from close range. Alexis Sanchez, in Chile's starting eleven, played 66 minutes. Valentin Carboni was not used by the Argentine coach Scaloni. Canada got their first three points under their belt, beating Peru narrowly thanks to David's goal in the 74th minute. It was a first victory for the North American national team. Tajon Buchanan came on in the 66th minute. The Canadians now occupy second place in Group A with three points, led by Argentina with six. Chile and Peru are below them with one point each. Everything will therefore be decided on Sunday 30 June at 02:00 CEST, when Canada play for passage to the next round by taking on Chile, while Argentina, already qualified, face Peru in the last round of matches
