Clubs meet in Bremen for FAIR - PLAY Project
Inter Campus
— Sep 23rd 2022Werder Bremen hosted the event; Inter, Feyenoord, Hibernian and the Erasmus University Rotterdam met to discuss the initial results of the study of sport and Resilience
Three years have now gone by and it’s time to take stock; analysis has begun on the impact of sport in developing children’s Life Skills and Resilience.
The project, which has been tested at Inter Campus in Uganda, Hungary and Paraguay, saw the use of a new methodology based on teaching and sports and was developed in conjunction with other European clubs, that are committed to social causes: Feyenoord, Hibernian, Werder Bremen and Charlton. Alongside these clubs, experience and input from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, mainly from psychology lecturers and experts in psycho-dynamics, has been invaluable. This was accompanied by two scientific measurements to assess the real progress of children who benefited from the initiative.
The parameters, for the time being, are optimism, leadership, motivation and goal setting: abilities that can be improved on the pitch. And the initial results support this.
This project is co-financed by the European Union.
