It's the day of Chelsea vs. Inter: all of the updates

The countdown is on for our final pre-season friendly. In a few hours, Simone Inzaghi's men will take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at 16:00 CEST. Inter will play in their new Away Kit for the first time after it was shown off in the iconic street of the English capital.

On Saturday, the Nerazzurri trained ahead before leaving for London.

NERAZZURRI'S CURRENT SITUATION

Since the start of the new season, which began with the training camp on 13 July at the BPER Training Centre, Simone Inzaghi's team has played five friendlies, securing three wins, one draw, and one loss.

The Italian champions claimed victories in their first three matches: 3-2 against Lugano, 2-1 against Pergolettese, and 3-0 against Las Palmas. This was followed by a 1-1 draw against Pisa and a 2-0 defeat by Al-Ittihad.

The Nerazzurri approach their final pre-season test against Chelsea with a full squad, as all players who were on international duty have returned. Inzaghi's side will kick off the 2024/25 Serie A season on 17 August at 18:30 CEST with an away match against Genoa.

FOCUS: MARESCA'S CHELSEA

With their Premier League debut set for Sunday, 18 August against reigning champions Manchester City, Chelsea will wrap up their pre-season at Stamford Bridge against Inter. Much has changed for the London side since finishing sixth in the league last year, which secured them a spot in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers. Enzo Maresca has taken the helm at Stamford Bridge, replacing Mauricio Pochettino, and will make his home debut this Sunday.

In July, the Blues travelled to the United States for their customary pre-season tour, during which they played five friendlies, recording three losses, one win, and one draw. The tour began with a 2-2 draw against Wrexham, followed by a 4-1 defeat to Celtic. They bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Club America but then suffered a 4-2 loss to Manchester City and a 2-1 defeat to the reigning European champions, Real Madrid.

Aiming to improve on last year's sixth-place finish, Chelsea have made several key additions to their squad alongside new manager Enzo Maresca. The club has signed goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defenders Tosin Adarabioyo and Caleb Wiley, midfielders Renato Veiga, Omari Kellyman, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, as well as forward Marc Guiu.

Now, the only thing standing between the Blues and their first official match of the 2024/25 season is Sunday's friendly against Inter in the magnificent setting of 'The Bridge'.
