MILANO - Carlos Augusto has joined Inter. The Brazilian full-back spoke to Inter TV about his excitement at starting this new adventure.
How do you feel? What does joining Inter mean to you? "I'm really happy; this is a big Club. I'm eager to play at San Siro and help my teammates. There's not much to say; I want to show it on the pitch." Last season, you were one of the revelations in the league: six goals and five assists. What do you expect now from this new adventure? "I'm ambitious. I know that I had a good season last year and I hope to do even better here with my new teammates. My hope is to boost my goals and assists even further." Monza on matchday one; the Biancorossi were your first team in Italy. How much have you developed since moving to the country? "I've come a long way since I first came to Italy, thanks also to the many people who've helped me. I want to keep improving; I have room to grow and I hope to help my teammates." Stamina, technique and pace are a few of your characteristics; how would you describe yourself as a player? "I'm a humble guy and I want to work hard for the team. I may be Brazilian but I like to run hard. My first aim is to help my teammates to have great games." You're linking up with Frattesi again after playing with him in your first season in Italy. "It's true. He helped me a lot. I'm pleased to see him again and I hope we can do well together." Inter have had many great Brazilian players, in your position too; has one of them in particular been an inspiration to you? "We know the most famous names in Ronaldo and Adriano but, in my position, Roberto Carlos played here. I've learnt a lot from his way of playing; he was a top player so it'll be tough to reach his level but I want to give it my best shot."
