— Nov 15th 2024The German defender's thoughts after renewing his contract until 2029
Inter and Yann-Aurel Bisseck together until 2029: the Nerazzurri defender discussed his emotions in an exclusive interview with Inter TV:
What does this renewal represent for you? "I feel that the Club has confidence in me, as does the coach: everyone has contributed to this renewal, and I'm happy with the progress I've made. I think this deal is a positive moment for everyone."
This is your second season at Inter: what is your assessment so far? "I think I've done better than many expected. I don't think many knew my name before I arrived here, but I've done some good work and learnt the tactics and methods of Italian football. Learning the language has also been helpful. I think he's been a satisfying experience so far." You've made some big strides forward since arriving at Inter: where do you think you can still improve? "There are many things I can still improve. I'm not a perfect player, but I'm still young and there are many aspects that I still need to work on, especially from a tactical and mental point of view. Technically and physically, I've reached a good level. I think my mentality will be key to my future growth."
Inter represents a big step in your career: did you ever imagine making such a significant leap forward in your career? "It might seem strange, but yes: I always believed I'd have a good career in football. My journey hasn't always been easy, but I've always thought I could make it. Now that I'm here, it's a fantastic moment for me and my family, and I'll try to continue on this path."
What has struck you the most about this group? "I didn't expect to arrive at such a big club and find such special and helpful teammates. When you play with high-quality players, it's often the case that those who come from smaller clubs aren't respected. However, everyone has helped me so much here, including the players who play in my position. Everyone has been kind, and I felt at home from the get-go. I can now truly say that Milano is my home."
You've only been here just over a year, but the Nerazzurri fans already consider you an idol: do you have a special message for them? "Perhaps 'idol' is a bit too much, but I love the fans and the support they give us. We're obviously enjoying some good times, but I think they'll always be by our side. I hope that they continue to appreciate me, and I'll try to repay them with good performances on the pitch and hopefully a few more trophies."
