Inter suffered their first Champions League defeat of the season, with Bayer Leverkusen running at 1-0 winners at the BayArena. The match was decided by a scrappy goal from Mukiele, who found the net after an underwhelming encounter where, despite struggling in attack, the Nerazzurri looked solid defensively.
Ultimately, however, Simone Inzaghi’s men conceded a late goal and remain on 13 points after six matches in the Champions League, where they still sit in the top eight (in fourth place ahead of Wednesday’s matches).
