Bastoni: "I want to be one of the leaders of this team"

“It’s been a busy month, but we took a bit of a break after the Champions League final. It was hard after coming so close to achieving a great feat. Now, we’ll go again with real enthusiasm and the desire to work with the aim of winning as much as possible. When I arrived at Inter, I had one objective: to establish myself here and remain a Nerazzurri player for as long as possible. I’m delighted to have renewed my contract; it’s what my family and I wanted. We need to try and do the same again as we look to win the Supercoppa Italiana and go all the way in the Coppa Italia. Above all, we’re aiming for the second star. I’d like to thank all the people who have worked at Inter in the past few years, whether coaches, teammates or players who have worn the shirt over a long period of time. Now, I’ll try to pass on a few things to the new arrivals. I need to improve in many respects; for example, displaying consistency throughout the season. I need to try and be a leader, and I’m hoping I can inspire my teammates.”
