Inter and Atalanta are set to meet for the 125th time in Serie A. The Nerazzurri have 66 wins to their name compared to La Dea's 24, with 34 draws completing the picture. Inter are unbeaten in nine top-flight matches against the Orobici and have scored in each of the past 25 games between the sides in the first half of a Serie A season. With 15 wins in their last 18 league fixtures, Simone Inzaghi's side are in excellent form. For the second time in Serie A history, Inter have a goal difference of at least +20 after ten matches: they last achieved this in 1933/34 (+21).
ATALANTA VS. INTER, 2004/05
Among the previous clashes against La Dea, the match in Bergamo on 22 September 2004 is one which stands out. That day, Inter ran out 3-2 winners thanks to Stankovic's finish, a Recoba masterpiece and fine individual play from Adriano. The final 15 minutes were thrilling and full of fantastic pieces of play.
NO WAY PAST ACERBI
Among the many positives so far in 2023/24 is Francesco Acerbi: out of those who have made more than five appearances during the current Serie A campaign, he is one of three defenders who are yet to be dribbled past.
THURAM ONE OF FIVE PLAYERS
Fantastic performances, goals and assists: Marcus Thuram is enjoying a brilliant run of form. The Frenchman is one of five players across the top five European divisions to have scored at least four goals and provided at least four assists this campaign. The Nerazzurri No.9 has recorded a goal contribution in each of his last five Serie A appearances.
THE LAUTARO FACTOR
His leadership and charisma are key for Simone Inzaghi's side. So far this season, Lautaro Martínez has scored eleven league goals: the last Nerazzurri player to do better across the first eleven games of a Serie A campaign was Antonio Valentin Angelillo (19 in 1958/59). The Nerazzurri captain has scored 25 of Inter's 62 top-flight goals this calendar year.
BASTONI'S NUMBERS
The upcoming clash will be highly meaningful for Alessandro Bastoni: the Nerazzurri defender played his first seven Serie A matches while on Atalanta's books. Out of all the players who have made at least 150 appearances in the Italian top flight since 2016/17, he is the youngest.
