Sport has always been a powerful means of protecting and promoting human rights, for adults and for children. Like every day, on Universal Children's day, Inter reasserts its commitment to defending the rights of girls and boys all over the world.
On 20 November 1989, the UN General Assembly approved the UN Convention on the Rights of the youth, which establishes a number of fundamental rights for children including the right to life, health, education and leisure, as well as the right to a family, protection from violence, non-discrimination and the right to have their voices heard.
Through football, for 25 years, Inter Campus has been promoting the right to play and education, offering children all over the world tools to develop their character, to grow together in a culture of dialogue and peace, and spreading the values of sport such as respect and education as well as raising awareness in communities towards a fairer future. Accompanied by 250 coaches and educators, each week Inter Campus involves more than 8000 children in 127 communities in 30 different countries around the world.
Already a partner of the Global Compact and the UEFA Foundation for Children, in July Inter Campus became an Official Member of Football for the Goals, the initiative launched on the day of the opening match of the UEFA Women's Euros 2022 by the United Nations. This recognition continued the path pursued since 1997 with social intervention and partnerships that are flexible and long-term, through the game of football and the Inter shirt.
In line with its history and the values instilled since the day the club was founded, FC Internazionale Milano also supports the rights of children and teenagers through various Corporate Social Responsibility projects that involve forming partnerships with local social organisations to support social inclusion against all types of discrimination.
Thanks also to the participation of coaches from the Nerazzurri Youth Sector, sport as an educational, social and bonding tool is at the basis of projects such as 'Back to Sport' in collaboration with the CSI and the Kairos community, 'Inter Special'. The project works with the Federazione Calcio Paralimpico Sperimentale (Paralympic Football Federation), 'Sport in Cattedra-Io Tifo Positivo', in collaboration with the City of Milan and Comunità Nuova, and 'Football Therapy' and 'Hospitality', inclusive projects and stadium hospitality with the paediatricians of Milan's hospitals, local children's communities and associations of differently-abled people.
