— May 1st 2022The Croatian marked his landmark achievement with the opener against Udinese
There’s no stopping Ivan Perisic. He moves quickly and no one can keep up with him. He brings speed, assists, goals. He runs, chases, counters and closes down. Ivan has it all, putting him right up there with the best players in the league.
Sunday’s game against Udinese marked his 250th Inter appearance. It was special day, one to celebrate, and Perisic was rewarded with a goal. His header gave the Nerazzurri a 0-1 lead in Udine, and with the game finishing 1-2, it was an all-important contribution.
Perisic was born on 2 February 1989. He came to Inter in 2015 from Wolfsburg, playing for years as a winger. He’s always shown attacking flair, scoring 11 goals in two seasons and getting on the scoresheet in the 2018 World Cup final between France and Croatia. In the last two seasons, he’s been brilliant on the left of a five-man midfield for Inter, winning the Scudetto and Italian Super Cup. He brings something special down that wing, with the added bonus of both goals and assists.
In the current season, the Croatian has got seven goals and eight assists. Overall, Perisic is the Inter player with the greatest number of assists since 2007/08 with 36 in total, more than Maicon on 35.
The amazing thing about Perisic in all these 250 appearances is how his goals have come about. He’s a natural right-footer but is also completely ambidextrous. Of 52 goals scored, 19 have come from his right foot, 22 from his left and 11 from his head. Since 2004, Perisic is the only Serie A player to have scored a penalty with both his left and right foot. An incredible stat!
