Inzaghi says ‘focus’ key to Inter success in Coppa Italia

MILAN – The month of March will start with the much-anticipated #DerbyMilano as AC Milan and Inter meet in the semi-final first leg of the Coppa Italia. At 21:00 CET on Tuesday night, they will come head-to-head at the San Siro for the first of two legs that will see the winner reach the final of the competition.

On the eve of the match, head coach Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts with Mediaset.

"It will be a battle where both sides will look to get the better of the other but at the same time a match where mental strength, determination and motivation will be the key difference,” said Inzaghi.

“This will be a great advertisement for the city of Milan, but our focus needs to be on the match and our performance. We need to take ownership of how we prepare for this match and approach the game in the best possible way.

"Obviously scoring away from home will be crucial for us. 

“We need to take every game as it comes, rest and recover our physical and mental strength without looking too far ahead. To reach our goals that’s the only way we need to proceed.“
