GENOVA – Inter went close to breaking the deadlock against Genoa when Hakan Calhanoglu’s corner was headed by Danilo D’Ambrosio against the bar in the first half, but there would prove to be no goals come the end of the 90 minutes. The 0-0 draw at the Ferraris left the midfielder feeling disappointed.
“We knew it would be a tough game against Genoa tonight as they have a new coach, which gives them a new impetus and they compete for every second ball,” explained Calhanoglu to Inter TV. “It’s certainly disappointing to draw. We created so much, but it’s a bit of a strange period. We were just missing the goal once again. We have to stay calm because there are so many games to come.
“I feel good. I’m certainly a bit tired because this month has been tough with so many demanding games against top sides. We needed to get straight back on track after losing to Sassuolo at home but we got a draw. We can leave February behind us now, but we have to recover quickly because we’re kicking March off with the derby.”
