Sebastiano Esposito and Lucien Agoume in contention for Golden Boy award

Italian daily sports paper Tuttosport has released its list of 100 contenders for the Golden Boy 2022 award. The international accolade, which is now in its 20th year, showcases the best U21 player at a top-flight European club every autumn. Players born since 1 January 2022 are in contention this time around.
Two Inter players have made it on to the 100-man list: Sebastiano Esposito and Lucien Agoume. Both were out on loan abroad in 2021/22.
Esposito, born in July 2002, made 34 appearances for Basel in 2021/22, notching seven goals, six of which were in the Swiss league and the other was in the Conference League. Esposito also has 15 appearances and one goal to his name with Inter, which came in Serie A in 2019/20. The forward’s Nerazzurri debut was back in March 2019 against Eintracht Frankfurt when he became the club’s youngest debutant in European competition of all time at the age of 16 years, eight months and 12 days.
Agoume, born in France in 2002, featured for Brest in Ligue 1 in 2021/22. The midfielder made 30 appearances for the French side, having previously played three times for Inter in the 2019/20 Serie A campaign.
