MILAN – Five Nerazzurri were in action on Tuesday, with a certain Inter midfielder lighting up the Stadio Dino Manuzzi in Cesena with a stunner as Roberto Mancini’s side beat Hungary 2-1 in their second game in Group C of the Nations League, League A. Nicolo Barella fired the Azzurri into the lead with an unstoppable right-footed strike from the edge of the box before Lorenzo Pellegrini doubled the lead. Gianluca Mancini put the ball into his own net to give the visitors some hope. Alessandro Bastoni and Barella both started, with the former playing the full 90 minutes, while the midfielder was replaced on 84 minutes. Federico Dimarco made his second international cup when he was introduced in the 75th minute.
The stalemate between fellow Group C competitors Germany and England leaves Italy top of the pile.
Edin Dzeko was on the pitch for the first half of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 1-0 triumph over Romania in Group G.
Turkey put Lithuania to the sword in a 6-0 rout for the visitors. Hakan Calhanoglu started the game before being withdrawn on 45 minutes with the team 2-0 up.
