MILAN – Inter picked up a second consecutive victory on Saturday evening. After their win at Juventus last week, Simone Inzaghi's team beat Verona 2-0, which was also the fourteenth occasion his side has kept a clean sheet so far this season. Inter started strongly and pinned Verona back in their own area from the very first minutes. The opener came in the 22nd minute: Ivan Perisic's cross from the left was finished expertly by Nicolo Barella. Around eight minutes later, Federico Dimarco's corner was flicked on by Perisic and Edin Dzeko tapped in with his right foot from inside the box.
Lorenzo Montipò impressed in the Verona goal, making a number of important saves, but Samir Handanovic was also called into action, notably in the 35th minute when he denied Giovanni Simeone. There were fewer chances in the second half but Inter came under little pressure. Skriniar excelled in defence and Danilo D'Ambrosio went close to scoring a third but Montipò and the woodwork denied him.
